2018 New BMW X4,Design,Spec,Prcie and Realse Date..

The BMW X4 came to be in 2014 as a coupe version of the popular X3. Although sporting a sloping roofline and a redesigned rear end, the X4 is actually an X3 underneath, using the same chassis and drivetrains. The purpose of this crossover was to offer customers a sportier looking X3, as well as expand the company’s SUV lineup to four models. Unlike most Bimmer, the X4 has yet to gain a proper M version, although BMW did launch an M40i for the 2016 model year. In 2017, rumors that an X4 M might be underway began to turn into reality with more prototypes spotted on public roads. Come 2018 and the first-ever M version of the crossover is getting closer and closer to its official debut.

With the X4 having received a facelift , there’s no doubt that the X4 M will benefit from the same visual cues. It’s still a mystery as to why BMW delayed the X4 M for so long, especially with Mercedes-Benz already offering AMG version of the GLC, but we at least know that the performance-oriented SUV is on its way. An official launch date has yet to be announced, but we gathered all the information we have in a speculative review. We also created a new rendering of the X4 M based on the latest data provided by test cars seen on public roads.

Exterior :

The X4 M’s design was a bit of a mystery before the facelifted X4 arrived, but now that we’ve already seen the standard model, it’s easy to paint a picture for the M version. Look for the latter to get the same new headlamps that no longer run into the grille, taller kidneys, and a reshaped engine hood.

Down below, the latest spy shots show a new M bumper with large, deep air intakes and big intercoolers that feed air into the turbocharged engine. There also a significantly bigger vent in the center compared to the standard model. While not exactly visible here, the front wheelarches will be wider too, housing larger wheels with a unique rim design and performance-oriented tires.

A sportier bumper with a diffuser-like element and a quad-exhaust layout with bigger pipes will be standard. BMW could also add a couple of special colors to the palette in order to give the X4 M some exclusivity over the regular model. As usual, several design packages and options will be offered.

Interior:

The interior of the X4 M has yet to show up in front of the camera so far, but it’s common knowledge that it will share almost every feature with the X3. Some changes will be made with the facelift, but don’t expect anything spectacular. Previous spy shots indicate that the HVAC controls will get a new design, as will the center stack vents. The iDrive infotainment screen should also be new and include revised menus and functions.

It’s not yet clear whether the new X4 will get an all-digital instrument cluster, but the M-spec unit will definitely be unique, with a flashier, sports-oriented design. In front of it, customers will find a flat-bottom steering wheel with an "M" badge. Also look for M-branded gear lever and door sills, sports pedals, and, of course, a pair of heavily bolstered seats up front. Aluminum trim should be standard, while carbon-fiber will be offered as an option.

Specification/Engine/Performance :

X4 Engine: 2 Potent Engine Options

Each of the X4's trims has its own turbocharged engine. The 28i features a 240-horsepower four-cylinder, and the M40i comes with a 355-horsepower six-cylinder. The base engine has plenty of power for most drivers, but the six-cylinder has superior acceleration.

X4 Gas Mileage: Run-of-the-Mill MPG Ratings

The X4 gets its best gas mileage with the base engine, earning 20 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. With the larger engine, mileage drops to 18 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway. That works out to about an extra $150 per year in fuel costs.

X4 Ride and Handling: Agility to Spare

The X4 is one of the most athletic luxury compact SUVs, right up there with the Porsche Macan and Jaguar F-Pace. The X4's buttoned-down handling and sharp steering let you carve up winding roads. It also has a fairly smooth ride, and all-wheel drive comes standard.

Prices:

The X4  will likely cost at least $75,000 or maybe even more than $80,000 before options. Production of the new is said to commence in the first half of 2018 at the Spartanburg facility in the U.S..
